Graffiti

Graffiti on public walls, signs, benches or bus shelters.

Who deals with it

It goes to your district, borough or unitary council. Area Watch works out which one from where you are, so you do not have to.

What to photograph

Photograph the whole piece and its surroundings. Offensive or racist graffiti is removed faster by most councils — say if it is.

What the report includes

No personal details are sent with this kind of report.

What happens next

Area Watch files it with them and you get a notification when it has been filed, with their reference number when they give one. Everything they tell us appears under My cases in the app, and you can mark it closed once it is fixed.

The Android app is in testing. It will be on Google Play first; an iPhone version follows.
