What Area Watch does
Area Watch files reports about local problems with the organisation responsible, on your behalf and in your name where the report needs it. We pass on what you report; we do not fix problems ourselves and cannot make an organisation act.
Not for emergencies
Reports are handled during working hours. If anyone is in danger, call 999.
What you agree to
- Report real problems, honestly, and only send photos you took.
- Do not use Area Watch to harass anyone, to report people rather than problems, or to send personal details of other people.
- Keep your password to yourself.
- Send at most 20 reports a day. If someone reported the same problem nearby in the last day, the app asks before sending yours.
We may block accounts that break these rules, and remove reports or photos that break them.
Responsibility
We try hard to send every report to the right place, but responsibilities and boundaries change; our team checks reports that cannot be routed automatically. The service is provided as it is, free of charge.
