Smoke or bonfire

Smoke from bonfires, burning waste or chimneys affecting homes.

Who deals with it

It goes to your district, borough or unitary council. Area Watch works out which one from where you are, so you do not have to.

What to photograph

Photograph the smoke and where it comes from if you can see it safely. Councils act on regular nuisance smoke, so note how often it happens.

What the report includes

What happens next

Area Watch files it with them and you get a notification when it has been filed, with their reference number when they give one. Everything they tell us appears under My cases in the app, and you can mark it closed once it is fixed.

The Android app is in testing. It will be on Google Play first; an iPhone version follows.
